In his only summer as manager, Aitor Karanka made wholesale changes to his squad in a bid to turn Forest from strugglers to contenders.

The former Reds manager, appointed on January 8, 2018, added 17 new signings to his first team squad from the end of the season as he prepared to mount a challenge at the right end of the Championship.
